Gr4vy offers three ways to accept a payment from a buyer’s bank account. They differ in who collects the bank account and who keeps it, so start by deciding which of those you need. In these docs, connectors titled Bank account take accounts that Gr4vy stores. Connectors titled after a method, such as ACH Direct Debit or iDEAL | Wero, redirect the buyer to the provider.

Redirect

The buyer is sent to the provider’s page, or to their own bank, to enter or choose their account. The provider keeps the account details, and Gr4vy doesn’t store them. Use a redirect connector when the provider already offers the method you want, including local bank methods such as iDEAL | Wero, Pix, or SPEI. Browse the redirect bank methods by country or currency, or filter the connection catalog by the Banking category.
Adyen’s Pay by Bank (redirect) also uses Plaid, but Adyen runs the Plaid flow on its own page and keeps the account. It’s a redirect connector, separate from Gr4vy’s Pay by Bank with Plaid.

Bank account

You submit the buyer’s bank account details, such as an account number and routing number, or an IBAN, and Gr4vy stores the account. A bank account connector then sends the payment to the provider. Use this when you already collect bank details in your own onboarding, or when you want to reuse a stored account for later payments. See Bank accounts for the fields for each scheme and the connectors that process them.

Pay by Bank with Plaid

The buyer links their bank account through Plaid Link in your checkout, and Gr4vy stores the linked account. A bank account connector, or Plaid Transfer, then processes the payment. Use this when you want buyers to choose their bank rather than type in account numbers. See Plaid to set it up.
